Most of us homeowners chose this neighborhood for its unique character and features: a Residential pocket founded and mostly developed in the mid 50’s, nestled at the South West side of the Coral Ridge Mall area (Target, Publix etc..) it has grown into a Community of 150 private homes in the middle of a bustling Urban & Commercial environment as a small, unexpectedly preserved lung of lush vegetation and natural wildlife that is bordered on its Eastern and Western sides by Middle River Canals and on its North side by East Oakland park Boulevard.
Our Board is firmly dedicated to preserving these unique features, the home value and quality of life of our Homeowners, by being an active voice and participant within the City of Fort Lauderdale: working as an active member of the Council of Civic Associations as well as other relevant lobbying, Governing bodies and political Representatives to address the many challenges that our Residential area is facing everyday with an ever growing infrastructure and Commercial/Real estate development environment…

AUTOMATED ARM GATES
For years, there have been discussion to install Automated arm gates to our Community's entrances : there are a few benefits that were mentioned along with some objections but a proper debate never really took place with Residents as the modest budget of our Civic Association never even allowed the mere consideration, due to the financial cost compared to what fundraising and budget of our Civic Association used to be...
When we formally polled all Residents through our membership card in June 2021, 73 % of those who responded were in favor of this option, 20 % opposed and 7% were hesitant; the initiative was further discussed at our Jan.19th 2021 General meeting where attendance confirmed a strong interest for this initiative.
As already reported last year, our Board has been able over the past 3 years to better balance our expenses/budget and, for the first time in Coral Shores Association’s history, was able through our active FUNDRAISING /membership to set aside a RESERVE FUND beyond the operating expenses of this current year) , thus allowing the consideration of such significant capital improvement for our Community… ( continue next page)
